Chimney repair
Should your chimney suffer damage, either internally or externally, we offer an inspection service to identify what damage there is and what needs to be done to repair the chimney. This can include the Chimney vents, flue liner, insulation, smoke chamber, lintel, mantel or your chimney pot.
Chimney caps
If left uncapped, chimneys can be exposed to the elements and birds nests if not used regularly. An uncapped chimney can also allow warm air from the house to escape, making your home cold and heating bills soar. We can cap your chimney to protect against these damaging elements which will protect and lengthen the life of your chimney and reduce repair costs.
Chimney Cowls
Chimney cowl’s can be fitted to stop birds nesting upon your chimney and ultimately this will stop birds from dropping dirt and debris down into your chimney and potentially blocking it either partially or completely. Any leaves or branches within the chimney could also run the risk of causing a chimney fire which in turn can cause catastrophic damage to your chimney and house.
Fireplace cleaning
As well as your chimney, we can clean around the fireplace, the mantle and lintel areas and all of the hard to reach nooks and crannies around your fireplace or inglenook.
Chimney inspection
We offer a visual inspection of the chimney flue, chimney liner, flashing and crown. If you are experiencing problems with your fireplace, such as excess smoke in your house, then we also offer a camera inspection service – click here for details.
Chimney sweep at your wedding
Chimney sweeps are a traditional accompaniment to a wedding and are said to bring good luck, fertility and fortune to the bride and groom.
The tradition of a chimney sweep bringing the bride and groom luck on their wedding day is one that goes back many years to the reign of King George II.
What does a chimney sweep do on the Wedding Day?
On your wedding day I will arrive in traditional chimney sweep costume, including the customary chimney sweeps brush, top hat, coat with tails.
I will allow plenty of time for the bride and groom and also any guests who wish to have a photo opportunity with me.
In order to bestow the Chimney Sweeps good luck I will have a handshake for the groom and a good luck kiss for the bride.
With the power given by the Royal Decree of King George II I will then recite a message of good luck for the future to the bride and groom. I will then present the bride and groom with a personalised certificate.
In order to ensure good luck make sure to hire a genuine chimney sweep!
